Wee Burn Country Club
Wee Burn CC, a premier country club in Darien, CT is looking to hire an enthusiastic certified Tennis Professional. The club features an 18-hole golf course, 8 har-tru court at the Main Club and 5 har-tru courts at the Beach Club, 8 platform tennis courts, a 4-lane bowling alley, outdoor swimming pool, among many amenities. Main Club and Beach Club locations are 12 minutes away.
WBCC has a vibrant tennis program that includes 7 women’s teams, 3 men’s teams, 500+ junior players and many tournaments and social events. The ideal candidate will work alongside Director of Tennis and USPTA New England Vice President to continue building upon the success of one of the busiest country club tennis programs in the tri-state area. This is a great opportunity to build a career as a future Head Professional or Director of Tennis.
DUTIES: Assisting Director of Tennis and Head Tennis Professional with all aspects of a very busy tennis program. The Tennis Professional will provide private and group lessons to juniors, ladies and men. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: run and organize tournaments and events, promote all programs, help members with Tennis Shop sales, string rackets, communicate with the Director of Tennis regarding program status and strategies for growth, teach exclusively using 10 and Under guidelines for juniors 4-10 years old, some pro shop hours and light court maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate would have at least three years of experience teaching in a private club setting and have taught ladies teams and 10 and Under tennis. Must possess VERY strong communication skills and be a team player. College tennis experience and a minimum current playing level of 5.0 is required. Female instructors are encouraged to apply.
START DATE: Early May to mid to Labor Day (Sept. 5th). There is a possibility of year-round employment for a qualified candidate with platform tennis experience.
COMPENSATION: The financial package includes a very competitive salary, percentage of lessons, stringing, housing (if needed), and lunch and dinner while on duty. Tennis Professional will also receive a clothing allowance and will be required to work six days a week with a weekend day off.
